deceiving dreams

Two lines from another poem I wrote entitled, "we are history." A good pair of lines that I want to also publish separately as a couplet. Really meaningful and made me think about what I means and how it applies to life and people.

nothing’s as real as it seems

in this world full of deceiving dreams.

You say it so well. Nothing is as it appears, even if you look in the mirror. It is all an illusion. Make believe. That is what life has become. Nothing in this world today is based on truth or fact. Everything is twisted and shown in a way to try to keep most of society happy. Use to be we dreamed or had nightmares when we slept. Now we awake to them and work in them all day long. You have pointed something out that has escaped a lot of people, they question why they are so unhappy and just are not able to decipher that they are living within a nightmare taking place in broad daylight.
