What is your command?

What is your command?

A Poem by WriderParker
"

This poem is written for God to express my love and thankfulness to him. It also takes a lot of symbols from the Divine Comedy written by Dante Alighieri.

"
Gone astray into my Dark forest, I cry
powerless to feel the grasp of love,
or hark the voice of wisdom.
Lord, how long?

I plummet into carnal sins;
my back I turn from Calvary,
but feel the eyes of Golgotha.
Lord, how long?

The Flames of the Inferno;
the constricting dark choking sulfur
The chains of Judecca I deserve.
Lord, how long?

Keening for the Lamb's death on a tree;
I taste the bitter Sins and greave
At his resurrection I take a knee and plee!
Lord, how long?

In Hell Minos would Condemn
But your promises of love and life are like a gem
You are too good to me!
Lord, how long?

I become aware of your gift;
I cry, yet say I don't deserve
Discerning that I can't part from your loving hand
Yearning I now ask, what is your command?

this was lovely!!
the repetition of "Lord, how long?" was beautiful, because I think all Christians spend half their walk asking this question...
the emotion is there; it almost reads like a Psalm...

I don't want to pick at you, but you asked for improvement and the only mistakes I noticed were a few misspelled words: greave=grieve, plee=plea...

other than that, very well done.

A beautiful ending to the poem. Take a lifetime for some of us to know peace and love of God. The story in the poem was very good. A outstanding poem.
