Self-Doubt

Self-Doubt

A Poem by Kyle Francisco
"

Confronting an impulse

"

You!
the word escapes my mouth
without a doubt
sporadic impulse
driven in thought
feelings that cannot be bought
clawing for freedom
unintentional
now I have your attention
maybe its better this way
ending uncertainty today
tension building
eyes closing
finding meaning in this moment
struggling for courage
come as I am
conflicted with flaws
fathom these words
as they slip like silk
painting a picture
of vivid dreams
and reality shifts
for better or worse
I lift this curse
reaching for what is not mine
hoping for time
spreading seeds of assent
entrapped
spellbinding seduction
mesmerized
and failing to realize
crossing threshold into the unknown
so cold; so alone
fading in silence
holding on,
was I wrong?

Author's Note

Kyle Francisco
It was impulsive and so the poem streams out as thoughts normally would.
