Our Neverland Will Become Foreverland

Our Neverland Will Become Foreverland

A Poem by C.N.Moore

Every night I stare into the sky
patrolling the stars for my chance at flight
I await that laughter, that child’s voice
but motors fill the air, cars and their noise.
Patiently I gaze, no ships sail the moon
my patience grows thin.. am I alone.. am I doomed?
My days play out dullboring and cold
my soul it grows weaker, uninteresting and old.
Tonight like the last, and many before,
I’ll sit at my window curled up on the floor
I’ll stare at the stars, lost in the night,
scanning the left and studying the right.
Slowly something settles on my arm,
Please do not jump, don’t be alarmed”.
soft voice so beautiful and pure,
know this voice, I’ve heard it before.
Quickly I turn my eyes opened wide
to find you smiling curled up at my side
your hazel eyes settle on my face,
slowly your fingers, they begin to trace
Carefully you lift up from the ground,
you pick up your arms then reach them back down,
We can fly like Peter Pan
a sprinkle of dust now the journey begins,
just think happy thoughts and take my hand,
together our Neverland will become Foreverland.”
