so you say

so you say

A Poem by S.E. Conway

 you say you understand

where i'm coming from

so you say

you know how i hurt

where i scar

why  run

how i hide

so you say

you wont do anything

so you say

you wont try anything funny

why would i trust someone so willingly

so instintaniously

like you expect of me

just because

you say you know

how i am the way i am

and you say you know

why i hide

why i cry

and yet

you push me the way

i didn't need to be pushed

and cant withstand to be taken

with my current position

my current mental competition

how am i able to take your proposition

when

so you say

you know where im from

yet

dont know where i want and need to be going

only for your enjoyment

and my horror

too soon

too much

this soon after my pain

only a week, maybe three after

even you

didnt know all the peices

i didnt want to show you

couldnt tell you so soon

but yes

and no

later, yes

when wounds are no longer left open to the wind

to be torn one way and the other

to be lengthened and spit in

to fester and be unattended to

once and again

i know you'll say

you understand

but once again

so you say

you'll take care of me

but so i hear

as the same story

so he once said to me

'i wont hurt you'

as a blade on my theigh

and a hand on my throat

told me otherwise.
