WITHOUT A TRACE

WITHOUT A TRACE

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ
"

A Poem

"

Feisty waves, stream with synchronised motions,

     splashing sultry devotions, rippling aligned,

steadily in situ, gushing as froffy, white heads

tipple, in to lively, virtuous, river rituals.

The mystic moon is vaguely present,

     a faint, elegant, icicle crescent.

Frailty is transcendent, as a precious glove

of maroon velvet, (a precarious gift,

     received, following a tiff) ,

haphazardly falls from grace,  at an

     atmospheric pace,  sinking

     effortlessly among fastidious waves,

     without barely a trace.

Keen, lovely phrasing: ' The mystic moon is vaguely present, ~ a faint, elegant, icicle crescent. ' Your sea, your waves, are ever-moving, enveloping that glorious moon whatever its span. You've reminded me of the eternal connection of moon and tide - a miracle in fact. Rather like love and all its brilliant or gentle guises.

*snaps fingers*

I can only comment that it was beautiful, and the rhythm and choice of words painted it lush and exquisite within my mind.
Again, Thank You!

Detailed descriptions and imagery. I enjoyed "seeing" and "feeling" your thoughts, Sheema. :)

Thanks so much Norma
Drowning is a terribly frightening concept in its own, but the image of meeting doom without having a chance to leave behind your mark is even more so.. Well conveyed message.

Thank you so much Pax.
Whether you found yourself in the mind of a persona on a ship, or in the spirit of a mermaid ... very nicely written Sheema, from another point of view, you were one with the sea, in its many crested waves, as if it flew out of your quill. Nicely done! I like this one.

Always my dearest pleasure! :)
Love sometimes is seen
only by the eyes of each other,
with the water and the moon as the witnesses
when troubles come, nobody knows
how it started and ended
for there was no other trace...
