SEAFRONT RESOLUTIONS

SEAFRONT RESOLUTIONS

A Poem by SHEEMA HUQ
"

A Poem

"

Seagulls bicker fleetingly

on the seafront, at the

          start of the season,

scorching sun beams

convey a continuity,

    stifling,  yet unbroken,

sweat slowly trickles

unabated contentions,

         cold water splashed

on to the face,

counters setbacks

                  of exhaustion,

most of the gulls circle,

way  up into the bluest sky,

while, one lingers,

by the rocky marsh

                     headstrong,

looking  me straight

in to the eyes,

showing the quaintest

                      of emotions,

eventually,

the gull takes off,  after

a salient intrusion,

together we

reach a plentiful tide,

of  stark, salty

                      resolutions.

Such a wonderfully expressed painting of the seagulls, how they are, how they make you feel! The whole is perfect, balanced, so conspicuously true, yet I feel another story from the following to the end and beyond, Sheema!

I very much got into the rhythm of speaking this one, I used the indented lines as one might step to the side to avoid collision;
Using them to follow the other
quick, interlaced,
aside yet graced with continuity.

I like it very much!

Thank you, always, for your stylish poem recs!

I liked the stream of consciousness of this poem. You have some lovely lines throughout:

while, one lingers,

by the rocky marsh

headstrong,
looking me straight
in to the eyes,
showing the quaintest
of emotions,

You capture their boldness in this piece. I loved the blue ink too.

Noisy buggers aren't they... there's always one that's more brave than the rest... were you eating ice cream? lol... nice work Sheema, a good picture.

I find that geese are noisier, thank you for your thoughts
This is nice. I was born on the South Carolina coast. I remember watching those gulls and pelicans too.

Nice imagery of a seaside scenery where the gulls are the main attraction.

Cool!
