Child of Constant Silence

Child of Constant Silence

A Poem by SPF

I speak so loud,
My voice resounds,
I speak but I’m not heard.
My thoughts are clear,
But they can’t hear,
Though I’m yelling every word.

My eyes are glistening,
My ears are listening,
If only their ears were,
My thoughts are violent,
But my lips stay silent,
The two cannot concur.

My frustration boils,
My silence toils,
I feel a flare of violence.
But still I sit,
In my muted pit,
A child of constant silence.
