THE THANKSGIvING TURKEY THAT GOT AWAY

A Chapter by STAR CHILD

THE THANKSGIvING TURKEY THAT GOT AWAY
There once was a turkey
His name was tom
He was going be a cooked bird
But he jumped out of the oven
And ran around the kitchen
And out the front door
The chase was on
For the thanksgiving turkey was on
The chase was on
The chase was on
The thanksgiving turkey that got away
Hope he has
Exiting he is
The chase was on
The chase was on
Thanksgiving turkey
Having a dream of freedom
 A delight it is
No turkey today
No end to the dinner
Very grand it is with the family
Giving thanks for all they have
If tom had not gotten away
No but he did
Gracefully he did
The chase was on
The chase was on
Turkey got away
Under the table maybe
Running through the house maybe maybe  not
Keeping to the sky
Eating tom is against his wishes
You do not have to eat him
The chase was on
The chase was on
For the thanksgiving turkey
Got away he did
Oh what a dream
Turkey oh so good
The chase was on
The chase was on
Away he went
Wonders he say
A delight he is
Young and old gather
The chase was on
The chase was on
For tom the turkey
For the thanksgiving

It's an alright poem [ not your best but not you're weakest either ] but a well - written tribute to Thanksgiving it is . Some parts of the poem didn't match and felt out of the place in some parts and alittle disjointed but if you can see your own mistakes and errors in this poem , it'll be enough to save it and sustain it all. I'm not going to be over- critical as it's a write about thanksgiving and it's suppose to be a fun one but sometimes it's not fun when noticing the errors but overall you know what i'm saying .

Hi Allen, I am just getting around reading all my reading requests over here at http://writerscafe.org and I am dreadfully slow at it. This is not one of your better poems but it is cute. Lucie

Haha, this is cute for a Thanksgiving poem. I like this... maybe add some commas, punctuation... capitalize name and holiday.

THAT WAS FUN! MADE ME SMILE. WHO CARES ABOUT FORMALITY! IT'S ALL ABOUT FUN AND SELF EXPRESSION.

A delightful and fun poem. As I read this I had a vision of a totally featherless, headless and legless turkey running about and in his escape!
