FOUND LAZING

FOUND LAZING

A Poem by STRAND

Hook me up,

gateway drug.

I’m tired or lazy.

Figure it out,

get me a drink.

Expert’s lecture

Descriptions

Exhaustive

Care? No thank you

You care, you

Chances? No thanks

You take a chance, you

Trying too hard, you

Fresh-faced ape:

look, look, look

Enjoying purgatory

Feathered fluff above

Seething, pleading below

Spend my days forgetting;

leaving things blank.

Spend my nights kissing

cracked lips, girlfriend apathy.

Stone eyes, voice:

Empty expressway

Big pictures

deserve half a glance.

I can cancel out the world,

just not the noise.

Beautiful. To me it captures tedium, boredom, hopefulness, earnestness.
