Round and round and round

Round and round and round

A Poem by Lokesh

April 7, 2013

Round and round and round we moved
Rounding around the stupa where our love bloomed,
With our hands joined tight
And a promise to be there for each other in every fight.
With a look of joy in our faces,
In our memory lanes we left unforgettable traces.
We shared our thoughts and feelings.
We cared each other's happenings.
Those moments were the best of all,
Which in our lives most of us install.

But, truth can't forever hide.
If hidden, it comes like a strong tide.
I realized a loose grip from her side.
Never she dreamed of becoming my bride.
Beneath her look of care, I read her intention of playing.
She was the one who had mastered the art of heartslaying.
So genuine and so deceptive was her faking
That so deep and so true was my loving.
When I got aware of the truth, at first I felt it was imaginary.
But later it left me so devastated that I lost my hold on reality.

Round and round and round I now move backward
Rounding around the stupa where others move forward.
I do the rounding for I want to travel back to that time.
And when I will reach there, I will prevent her lovecrime.

I like the repetition and the story in the poem. Life goes round and round. We hope for a good ending. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
