Your Bloody Pages

Your Bloody Pages

A Poem by Sparrow

Flay my vein  to dip

your quill

into my blood.

Here it is,

your favorite ink.

It's beckoning you, I can see it

in your eyes.

It's all yours,

This tiny lifeline of mine.

Let your pen takes it's fill.

Enough to cover your beloved pages.

Here, here it is,

not just my blood or my vein,

but my heart

my body

my life

my soul.

All for you baby

my love, my darling.

All of these, to give you inspiration.

Am I something worthy enough

to inspire?

Am I good enough to be your muse for today?

And when you

your notebook

and your pen

are done with me,

satiated out your ears with me...

When I am no longer useful...

Fling my limb from you

Lest it defile your eyes.

Allow my being to bleed out in the corner

behind your back

Away from you, for some last respite.

Out of your superior gaze.

Allow me that single dignity.

To serve my purpose in your life

and gracefully fade into the shadows.

Strong and vibrant. I don't know if it's such a bad thing to be someone's muse. It's actually either the biggest compliment, or the greatest put down. Either way a lot of energy is expelled in honor of one person.

Sometimes I lke to be the focus of hate. It can really boost my ego.

I do know that I have a muse that illicits many passions within me. A rare find indeed.

Your poem is well crafted and a beautiful snapshot of your mind.

I felt this in the sad pit of my stomach as the emotions stabbed deeply in a twisted movement. Excellent write.

Here it is,

your favorite ink.... Oh wow this is fantastic! I absolutely love this, especially the first stanza. I also think the title you chose is perfect. Wonderful writing and great job with this!

The bloodbound, the strongest you can offer. Indeed, quite a sacrifice to stand into the shadow of a great writer. Yet you are a great writer yourself. Being someone's muse is a great compliment, but that should not mean you should let yourself fade away. You're a too formidable writer to do just that!
Yet you are not, for you are still expressing your most personal experience in the most personal way!

Such depth and darkness, rich with self sacrifice. The imagery of the bloody pen is so vivid, flowing down so perfectly line-by-line. Incredible write!
