haunted

haunted

A Poem by Shannon

How easy it is to wrap your hands around their neck
Just a little tighter, and their face will blush red
Oh, I know you want to… but you won’t

I know you won’t
For if you do; know this

A reaper of souls will fly above your bed
One faceless soul will be knocking on your door
Be prepared to fight for your own life

You think I am crazy
But, you’ll see… oh you’ll see

The creaking of the floor boards will wake you
You’ll go to see who it is, but no ones there
Shut the door and go back to bed

Told you I wasn’t crazy
Try and sleep now

The sun will rise alone when morning comes
You sleep forever… never to rise
Not all is bad; the faceless soul smiles

But this won’t happen
Your hands stay at your sides

Release your grip from around their neck
Take a step back and then take a bow
When you’re done take a look in the mirror you face
The redness in your checks will fade soon
