To My Greatest Foe

To My Greatest Foe

A Poem by Kyle Buser

To my greatest foe, whom I often find dashing dastardly to and fro,

Within my mind, and wresting, as he does, against this confine.

Though I’d like to say, "you’ve served me only well,"

Really it isn’t so, you’ve shown me mostly hell.

Death to you, ego, for all your disdain,

I seek to behold the light which your shadow doth abstain.

There is truth, peace, and love, intimate and divine,

If I empty myself of you, to embrace the vast infinite and sublime.

Quite the emotional read here,
I can feel this one, nicely presented.

Ah, the old ego, can bite you in the butt. At least you are aware. Very nice write with a little surprising twist. Like nothing I have read on here. interesting.

A
Dark and full of pain, the kind of pain that generates hate, powerful emotions emitted throughout this poem, well-done.

Getting rid of something or someone that has cause you misery can only make one feel better!
