Bigger Than God

Bigger Than God

A Poem by Sam

I'm too big for this world,
I'm bigger than God,
Yet I've achieved nothing
Except one disastrous love affair.
At my age, I envisioned my world
Set in stone,
It isn't even moulded,
The clay is still cold,
My soul not sold.

Is this all there is?
Endless speculation,
Self leisure, and self pleasure,
I see them walk by,
I'm not really envious,
They are too devious.

They all like boys who look like boys,
I look like a girl,
And I do it on purpose,
Because I'm scared to let anyone in,
They can like me for who I pretend to be,
I'll strip
Over time,
When he's mine,
He'll realise I'm bigger than God,
I'm better at pretending to exist.

He'll realise I'm bigger than God,
I'm better at pretending to exist.----------------holy mother of all lines - this is so great.

Yet....it comes at the end of quite the dismal piece, which although the boy/girl facade may not be there for all....there's a definite reality/mask thing we all go through until we're ready to let someone in. There are tons of tactics to keep yourself isolated, I was quite affluent in most growing up. When you're ready, the masks will blow away in the wind and you won't even notice.

Excellent universal piece. Love that you held nothing back on this write - it's fabulous.
and (((hugs))) cuz I want to.
Peace~~

That is actually quite brilliant! This poem has really made me feel quite mournful, but in a good way. Thought prokoving and somehow undeniably true to life.

I sense a deep underlying sadness in your words A touch of bravado perhaps in time you will come to accept yourself for what you are warts and all.Self love is the precursor to gaining love from others.
