Cats in a Sack

Cats in a Sack

A Poem by Sam

The alarming clock ticks like sickness,
A plodding drone
Each second a clone.

This room is a voyeur,
My very own annexe,
A piece of the world,
I have spent many a night here
Tickling my own fancy.
In here, I licked his ear
His head rocked back
As if dismembered
I remember.

And in December I pierced my ear,
You bought me a diamond
A genuine rock
From a heart of stone.

We lay in this bed
Like cats in a sack
Destined for water,
Slaughter.

I held the bucket
I would've held your hair back too
But you'd already lost that.

It slid out of your mouth
Like the s**t
You used to tell me
"Forever", "love of my life",
Unless I'm mistaken
Noone's died, I could be wrong,
No, you lied.

you have a very unique & enchanting style of writing, expressing yourself. i like this poem. dark but beautiful imagery. we've all had that person who has promised forever, but were spitting nothing but lies. i love the title & the image of "Like cats in a sack". nicely written.
