The Doll and her master

The Doll and her master

A Chapter by Sangria Green

The doll and her master

The doll stood before the king and watched him in his surprise.

The King was amazed.

Where had she been?

The mansion had been locked and the party over, there was no where for her to come.

She smiled at his surprise.

Then the King was angry.

He had forbid the doll to be seen at such an event; He forbade she dance and speak!

She dare defy him!

The doll laughed at his anger; her laugh carried like a bird call and lighted the air.

She taunted him with her pretty look.

In anger the King lunged at the doll, ready to lock her away in a cage lest she show obedience.

She moved away and lifted her cloak before he could attack again.

The cloak slithered through the air whipping and taunting the king until he fell to his knees.

Then it slithered back to the doll, which had waited impatiently through the beating, and wrapped itself around her causing her form to disappear.

The king looks around wildly.

Where was the doll?

Something stomped behind him and the King turned half dragging him self from the ground.

There stood Silence, shaking with laughter and ill humor, holding a petty gold blade in his hand.

The King screamed as he died.

Silence cried at the pity of it all.

The next night the girl was found dead.
