My Long Journey

My Long Journey

A Poem by PoeticVandal

Gripping of euphoria ,
As I see the golden springs, of autumn's red,
My soul at greater heights....

Tides smash against jagged beach rock,
Ever on with a splash,
Like nature's own applause eternal...

Oh horizon looms in the distance,
An unattainable goal,
Beyond all worldly maps,
An amber tempt to the soul....

Black skies stretches above,
Smoke dances in the still air,
As fiery flames fester below,
Golden warmth it doth cast on me,
As whispers flow in cold nightly breeze...

I see the river, it slithers,
Through the mountains and fields,
I hear it hissing, testy, gushing further,
Merrily with haste they rush to their nest, the seas.....

A fir tree sways in autumn wind,
Crimson waves in tangerine sea,
Only few frond needles left behind,
The rest were shed like petals in fall's spree.......

Life like the morning dew,
Glitters akin to diamonds on emerald sea,
But melts in tears in afternoon glow,
And thereafter mornings arise anew......
The autumn trees, with leaves of red,
Stood like lanterns on either side,
of the weathered path beneath my stride,
Though the end of the path is drawing near,
It is the journey I hold dear...

Eternal smiles I see,
Faces and memories that revive by me,
Are all the belongings I carry,
On my journey to the unseen world.....
