A Princess Story...

A Princess Story...

A Poem by Sanjh
"

Re-publishing it with some changes.

"

There was a princess,
in a land full of magic.
Her beauty second to none,
and her thoughts so romantic...

Searching for her soul mate,
across the countries, across the lands.
She had many adventures,
From the mountains to the sands...

After searching so far,
she found her prince charming.
Fierce as a warrior,
and face always smiling...

The prince was perfect for her,
their love grew strong.
But as this is a fantasy,
something has to go wrong...

The princess was abducted,
"as always", by an evil witch.
Her dungeon between the mountains,
near the fearsome ditch...

The prince with his army,
went to rescue his beloved.
But only the prince could reach,
as his army was magically flooded...

The prince fought bravely,
but was no match for the witch.
And princess was crying, watching
the witch push him down the steep pitch...

The prince held on tight,
Waiting for a miracle.
Watching him struggling,
princess broke all her shackles...

She picked up the sword
driving it through the witch's heart.
and saved her prince,
giving his life a fresh start...

This story went a bit weird.
But all I wanted to say
is it's not the prince,
who always saves the day...

Prince don't always make the effort. Sometimes both sides need to work on it to make things work, being dependent never been the solution to certain problems. Make it be true to life or fantasy, it always have to be fair.

This one's great, for a person who is used to cliches this one is new but then again I also love twists on plots. This don't look like one for a first timer.

Thank you for reading Ayesha...:)
I really liked this one!
I like the way it's not cliched at all! ;)
The best words I like are;
This story went a bit weird.
But all I wanted to say
is it's not the prince,
who always saves the day...

One more thing... You have rhymed witch and ditch together a lot of times in poem. You should avoid this repetition. Otherwise, it was good :)

Lol, for the last two lines! Seems like you're parodying the generally happy endings in love stories in which prince is the saver!
Well, this long & strong poem has some guts to impress the reader. Thanks...

Thank you for reading Gurleen...:)
I really liked the last paragraph. Princess always are showed too dumb and helpless and prince are always the saver.
"The prince was perfect for her,
their love grew strong.
But as this is a fantasy,
something has to go wrong..."
These are great lines. Honest and lovely.
The concept of this poem is different and wonderful.
Great write!

Thank you brother...:)
The last stanza made me smile. I love when the princess is not as helpless as she is often made out to be. Well done on this, it almost seemed like a ballad.

Thank you so much Ashira, I'm glad you liked it...:)
It was such a "flowing" and a good read. Just loved the last 2 lines. And the other line where you had said, "but since this is a fantasy, something had to go wrong" - this part made me smile involuntarily. But, shouldn't the second-last line of the second-last stanza be "...and saved her prince" instead of "...saved his prince"? :)
Again, nice read!
