On Your Knees

On Your Knees

A Poem by InsomniacWriter

Those frozen tears that you left have melted;

Yet the ability to let you cover my eyes has been pelted;

Until a message of concessions and confessions;

Arrived and left me in a daze of questions;

Is this possible? Is this real?

That in a few years time we'll seal the deal?

With the amount of thinking and pacing;

Only knowing that time is racing;

Suddenly realising that this is our secret;

Petrified when exposed and left to interpret;

Insults and jeers which I would have to face;

Just the warmth of your arms would demolish the trace;

But let's live the present and impede the future;

Right now you'll remain a friend or even a suitor;

Just don't seduce my vulnerability or innocence;

Because life of today isn't a state of abundance.

Author's Note

InsomniacWriter
This is one of my most personal poems I've ever written. I don't give a crap if this is unorganised or it has a messed up structure etc. It was something I'd written in about 10 minutes. Enjoy x
