A Poem by Sapph

You. It had been five minutes and
You made my heart leap to
A place that I cannot revisit.

You. I found your lips in the heat.
I was already doomed.

You. Your smile. Ineffable. Chest flutters.

Her. What does she have that I can imitate?
I'm losing integrity quicker than I lost
To fate.

Me. My heart is caving, my soul despairing,
My head screaming
Don't.

You. Your smile again. It fractures
What
Little logic
I possess.

You (and me). I wish I could right all
Their wrongs for you
I want to make do with what they left
Of you. I want to make love to your intellect
Without f*****g your mind up.

Me. I will never know.

Me. My unreciprocated feelings
Will gather dust, it's hard when you fall
In lust.

You. You want her, you love her.

Me. But I will never be her.
