Eat not the bread of remorse

For its taste is bitter, coarse

From many wrongs of yesterday

As it has aged, dry changed assays

Replays of when it was baked

Of those whom heartbreak suffered

From puerile stunts and brainless words

Discord that filled that loaf's innards

Now moldy, indigestible

This bread remorse, abominable

Reviews

Nice analogy for regret. Clever use of the poetic form to express what leads to remorse like mold on bread. Your first line is the best. Would like to see the rest written in that same liturgical style. Like a Bible passage in tone and syntax.

Nice write.

I like the wisdom in your words. The statements were strong and had purpose. A outstanding poem. Thank you.
