Perfect Landing

Perfect Landing

A Poem by Lyndy
"

This poem is about letting go of fear and explore outside of your shell. Things might seem hard in the beginning but it would eventually turn better after you tried.

"
I'm hanging on a rope
Exploring the wonders of the universe
Looking at the scenery below me
Which is not too far down

I'm searching for a clue
To find a perfect landing
To avoid a fall
Or find a perfect crash

I've lost my sense of direction
And hoping for a clue
If someone could tell me
Or whether I already knew

Holding onto the rope
I tried to focus on the ground
Then suddenly something hit me
The thought I finally found

I'm looking for a direction
To get a happy landing
However I lost all satisfaction
Because there is no perfect landing

I tried to hold on to the rope
Then I decided to let go
Let go of the fear
That kept me clinging on
I had to let go
And find the perfect landing

As the distance became closer
I would fall unto the ground
The ground would never hurt me
Because of the patch I truly found
The fall led me to serenity
A perfect direction in life
Only You could determine
Whether it's life or strive

So I could no longer hold on
To the things I cherish most
As I know that fear could destroy me
If I hold it too close

Thanks a lot James! You have a nice day! ^^
The poem and the image (the stunning image choice) together give the reader a real sense of the surreality that is the mind and we are privvy to such deep thoughts and decisions in a conspiracy of beautiful voyeurism. This is very deep and deeply resonates Lyndy.

Thanks a lot, Anto! :D
i really like the use of the oxymoron..."perfect crash"---it takes a lot to overcome fear...
to move forward when we are scared...

and when we express ourselves with our poetry, there is that risk of being misunderstood or thought of as weird or alien....but our words move forward almost on their own and we follow them.

really like the poem, but just one suggestion...i would leave out the description...and let the readers interpret for themselves how they relate to the piece...
