Accepting Limitations

Accepting Limitations

A Poem by Saraplenty

I cannot preach you a silvery sermon

but I can

make you look to the heavens

while worshipping my body

as you beg for mercy

down on your knees.

I cannot put an end to world hunger

but I can

create a buffet

of delicious decadent treats

prepared with steady hands

to feed your malnourished soul.

I cannot find a cure for cancer

but I can

bring to your bedside

a first-aid kit

filled with healing love

surpassing any shot or pill.

I cannot promise you tomorrow

but I can

pledge to stand by your side

take your honest hand in mine

forget to stare down the time

that would threaten to make this night end.

I really, REALLY liked this!!! Life expierences, as painful as they may be, can create some of the greatest inspirations for our writing. :) Good job!

About
I am awesome. And sometimes, I vomit things on to paper to aid in breathing. I write for me, to release what it is I am feeling at that moment, and because I like turning those feelings into so.. more..
