His Darkest Reality

His Darkest Reality

A Poem by Sarah
"

A man who struggles with his morbid thoughts.

"

He struggles through the black of night

And fights his way into the day

Yet he never ceases to escape

The corners of his mind

These thoughts are racing through his head

He can’t even escape to his bed

He cries at night just to find the light

Searching for that missing thing

In his life to him it means

Everything that he wants himself to be

But the thoughts enrage his soul

Crushing everything he holds

So dear to him he feels so alone

These thoughts are piercing inside

Leaving holes to bleed and to die

These thoughts are gruesome and cold

Like a statue old and alone

He never had a fighting chance

When these thoughts delivered their dark romance

Toying with his demented little mind

Leaving tears of agony

Pain that brings him to his knees

Discomfort that keeps him awake at night

It is really good sweety. :) this poem is psycho- analytical in nature. The way you have gone to the depth of mind of a depressed person. Yes his thoughts only make holes in his soul because of which he bleeds. We all come across such phases. Sometimes we have that fighter instinct. Sometimes we don't.. A poignant write. Well done.

I understand where you are going with this piece
But not sure if you were going for a form method or free verse.
It kind of bounces around both

I know this man, and that man is me at times. You must have had experienced some guys who just have to get things off their chest. I often tell the opposite sex about my depression, and I do this because I wonder what girls would think of it. But telling it isn't easy just the same. Most girls think that guys only want sex--which some part of that is quite true, being honest--but they also seek for the right girl. Humans often find themselves missing that one piece to make them whole...an that is a loving partner.
