A Little Angel

A Little Angel

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

I wrote this for the funeral of a precious 8 month old twin girl that meant the world to me. She was so bright for being so young, and I will miss her dearly.

"

There's a little angel sleeping,

In the clouds up above,

When I think of her soft, sweet face,

My heart so fills with love.

A little light glows brightly, still,

Nestled within her heart,

It's fueled by all our memories,

Kindled right from the start.

She will never be forgotten,

My heart aches to the core,

But I smile when I think of her,

I wish I'd held her more.

We had a precious little girl,

Who loved to laugh and roam,

She rests within His Kingdom now,

For God has called her home.

I don't think there are words that sufficiently do justice for situations like this. Much of my thoughts are with the past, so this makes me think of old graveyards I've walked through, seeing all the infant's graves and feeling the sorrow that still emanates from them. It is an intense sadness, the only balm for which is knowing they have a special place in heaven. Though sad, this writing is excellent.

This is sad the way you wrote it but written very well. It is reminiscent of classic poetry.

The loss of one so young is always heart wrenchingly sad. Not all have such a beautiful poem written to remember them by. I'm sure she's smiling up there, Katie.
