Wishing I Was Medusa

This is a funny, weird, crazy kind of poem

Wishing I was Medusa

If I could be anyone, because they asked

Whether real, fictional, or mythological

I would pick… Medusa

I think it would be fun to have many statues

Yes, statues are fun

They are art

Something I create with the power of my eyes

People say everyone does that

But not like me, I just have to open my eyes

For them it requires a whole lot more effort

When I want to, I can wear cool shades

To shield my power or create an element of surprise

I get pet snakes that are with me all the time

They are so loyal

My art and my snakes are my life

Life would never be boring

If it is I might get really creepy

Or be considered evil and legendary

Because if I get bored with a statue

I think I will sell it on eBay

My friends and I were asked "if you could be anyone else in the world who would you want to be" by a teacher, when it got around to me, I decided to be weird.

I guess Medusa inspired so many cultures and had so many hidden powers although she was depicted with many snakes on her head. I like the whimsical aspect of this unique write. I hope you don't scare people now by being a Medusa. Is it Halloween yet...lol
