If You Only Knew

A fun little love note to my wife last month.

If you only knew

You are the center of all
the bubble gum in life’s lollipop
each day’s lasting memory
every dream’s naked truth

A gravity of pain and doubt
spinning galaxies of light
the darkness your only illusion
a doorway to every dimension

Your love the meaty seed
each suffering cracks the shell
daily responsibility planting you
as tendrils of fragile faith root

Reaching out to be more
not realizing you seek yourself
for the meaning is already known
and it has always been you…

the closing makes me feel warm and fuzzy ..its a wonderment .. this thing called love .. all fire to start then dedication and trust built into a solid foundation ... i think this poem keeps it real .. especially touched by the closing ...

Good morning Brad,
Interesting thoughts that spill from your words and now linger in my head.
I enjoyed your metaphors… I always love metaphors.
I wrote Innocence which is very different from anything I have ever written.. it has several metaphors.
That poem just poured out of me.. really felt that someone sitting on my shoulder wrote it… I often feel that way…
