MERE XLIV

MERE XLIV

A Poem by Seanne Tholltree

I want to bake

I’m learning how to bake

I’m not a baker, how sad.

I want to bake us

I’m learning how to bake you

I’m not a baker, how sad.

How sad that I couldn’t

find the right ingredients

to put in the baking pan.

Or maybe I have the ingredients

at hand but I failed in

measuring them, how sad.

Baking is an exact science

I’m merely not a baker, how sad.
