YU'KI

YU'KI

A Poem by Jake Brunton
"

A poem about being at peace with the snow

"
A tatami in the woods, on a hill.
The forestry is blanketed with white beauty.
My empty house; my tea is ready.
Sitting, sipping, memory flutters like the canaries.
It’s peaceful.

Memories of youth spring a bout.
The white, vintage veil wraps the mind.
I have no value anymore;
than to live in harmony of myself.
One cannot have ‘lo’ve without
'lo'neliness.
Sip my tea in harmony.

The quiet, calm, forest winter chills these old bones.
It brings back an old memory of her; me; it.
Switch on the furnace,
and now I watch the snow in peace;
released from reality.
