Receding Forest

Receding Forest

A Poem by Eternal Twilight

 Fleeting features,fleeting creatures.
They run from those whom they
are afraid to face.
For they are cutting down there
happy place.
Hearts are saddened at what
has come to be.
A home where they lived
in peace and harmony.
Is suddenly receding away
never to return.
The beautiful birds in the sky
can't even see a little fern.
So with sorrowful hearts they
leave there once happy home.
Only to find a new place to live
and to grow.
