Unspoken

Unspoken

A Poem by Seriana

Unspoken

These are not words left unsaid.

These are simply words.

Unknown.

On a blank canvas of alabaster

as solid the stone that moves yonder knot…

Anchored to a body,

bold in their right of free will,

to always remain…

SILENT.

Hidden beneath a shadowed tomb,

so still,

the echo in ricochet off the sealed vault within.

These are not words left unsaid.

These are only words that will never be heard…

This gave me images of the Egyptian alabaster burial jars with your cryptic delivery- and the thought that many of these jars and tombs are still waiting to be discovered until this day. Enjoyed this very much.

To me this is speaking about writing. Many times we have thoughts and words that we don’t verbally say but we write them down and share them even if we don’t tell the specific person our heart felt words

Words on stone I suppose can't be changed at that moment in time.
Words unsaid though tend to linger on forever never really giving closure that you need.
I like this, it leaves you feeling a bit hopeless, but death does that.

Your poem transported me to my father's grave and his headstone. His words now silent, now unspoken but anchored in my heart and forever with me. Thank you for bringing my Dad back to me today.
