Tremor

Tremor 

Blurred vibrations of sound 

surround all around me, 

pressing close without a touch. 

A bit much, if you ask me, 

to be in a space of repel 

and swell of the sounds 

and mounds of energy waves 

that cascade from above 

to evaporate upward from below 

as though the low depths 

mean little more than aloft. 

 

A soft pulse pushes and pulls, 

until I’m overflowing with senses 

that mean nothing but distraction 

from elsewhere in the universe.

Strangely this, although appearing to express distress in the first stanza, left me seeing the protagonist alone in bed in the dark with the sound of silence filling the room as gradulaay they feel the heat of arousal.
