Shattered Lullaby

Shattered Lullaby

A Poem by Eryn ♪

A fragment of a song rings through my head,
A lullaby of notes,
Dancing gently across my mind,
Reminding me that you are gone.

Another great light has ceased to burn,
Leaving behind a wake of darkness,
That watches many more lights flicker out,
Kissed by the night.

Since it happened things have kept moving,
Things I thought I knew fall apart,
The world around me,
Myself.

Another guiding light has been extinguished,
Taken too soon,
A sad song sung before,
Yet I feel it anew.

Why do I cry?
I didn't know you,
Never had we held conversation,
Yet the hole in my chest tells me it hurts.

I feel the sorrow in the music,
Echoes of when you were here,
The notes themselves know no pain,
But the rain falling is full of salt.

Eryn ♪
So, another of my idols are dead. It hurts.
First Monty,
Now Christina,
I don't understand why it affects me so much.
But this is my tribute to them.
