Anarchist's Aria

Anarchist's Aria

A Poem by Sgammato [Inertia The Musical]
"

After being inspired by The Philosopher, Anthony had joined the Movement to restore true democracy to the U.S.S.A. The anarchist tells this story after he sees Liberty sinking back into her S.O.M.A.

"
Anarchist's Aria

ANTHONY:

I always knew this world was not perfect

I never tried to pretend that it was

But I never tried to make it any better
Just sighed and complained like everyone does

But then one day I knew
That something deep inside of me must change
I felt a deep-seeded rage,
it was strange….

But my thoughts were cut short
by the words of a thinker
He spoke of a cure
for society

Never forget those words

Never forget those words....

"Sapere Aude,
my friend!
Come, join our great Movement!
Through reason we will transcend!
We will augment and amend
and affirm and defend
our freedoms!"

I was captured by those words

Their value unobscured
By doubt

My confidence was pure,
My apathy was cured

by faith

If The People ever heard

the truth behind those words
then they surely must be inspired.
They surely must be inspired!

So, I started spreading the news:
Hey, won’t you come join this Movement?
Maybe we can change the World
Maybe we can heal the sick
And feed the starving children

Oh hey, won’t you come join this Movement?

Maybe we can change the World!
Maybe we can restore common sense

and stop the "war on terror.”

And then I saw the change

Our numbers reached new heights
through a holy zeitgeist
we began to unite
And to fight
show our might
by chanting
"We are the difference" --

[Screaming]
NO! Come back! It’s not over yet! Please!! AGH!  …. LIBERTY!!

................................... So when you say......

“Sapere Aude” my friend….

It’s HOPELESS!
