Storm

Storm

A Poem by Shay33

Wooden planks moan beneath me.

Our fingers intertwined,

Tears surface beneath fluttering eyelids.

Crack.

Lightning splits the sky in two.

Raindrops fall behind my ears.

Sirens yell from off in the distance,

Under a blanket of fierce grey.

My tongue dances behind my teeth.

We are merely whispers

In a world of screams.

Love the flow and the imagery in this piece. I especially love the last 2 lines, it just paints a picture of extreme contrast in my mind.
