B is for Brutus and betrayer

B is for Brutus and betrayer

A Poem by Infinite hexes
"

this is a short poem about how Julius Caesar might have felt when he got backstabbed

"

You betrayed me

How could I not see

The eyes of Judas

You are an enigma to me

The fifth columnist

You should be in sack cloth and ashes

To share, my brother and patches

My dear friend you are full of surprises

To gift me a dagger for my unarmed back

Manners, troth and love is what you lack

What an expert you are

A fine soldier who could kill the evil dictator

But you were also my old friend

And we played, fought and loved

Then how could you?

Give your ears to that devil

You and I both know what he is

I always knew that man had a passion

Love for the death of Caesar

Et tu Brute?

What a refreshing topic to write on. Julius Cesar never got the attention he deserved, I hope he's smiling now...all the books and poetry written about him today, he should be an amused spirit. Interesting use of vocabulary, my two cents would be to include a note to readers. Offer some definitions to words like "troth", and I would capitalize Devil and Dictator. Give them the respect they deserve. Nice work!

This is amazing poetry and story. I wanted to know more about each character in the poem. No weakness in the outstanding poem.

The title: creative!
The font: Ooooh! I love it!
The contents: OK, this is such a mature topic, so different from your previous poem, I am really impressed. This is good work! I suppose this is how Caesar must have felt. It's a pinpoint pain you feel to find your closest friend and confidante has been influenced by those who are merely jealous and do not understand you. You would think that that one person would be the one who is by your side and who would shield you from haters, but instead he becomes their puppet. Their hands and feet. Along with hurt, there is also disappointment. You expect more from the person you trust, as that is one of the things to make you trust him. Again, I will say this poem is excellent! Keep it up!
