Hand in Hand

Hand in Hand

A Poem by SheActsLikeSummer
"

Love.

"
Hand in hand
A kite between
High above
A growing tree
Hand in hand
The awkward phase
Little teasing
Cheeks ablaze
Hand in hand
Bound by gold
Wedded now
As they grow old
Hand in hand
Withered beauty
But love thrives
As if their duty
Heart to heart
Hand to stone
Though he wishes
Is still alone
Soul to soul
As tree does perish
Two graves intwine
From a love once cherished

Fantastic job!!! I say this every time but I cannot believe you are 13 and writing like this. So beautiful. The rhyme flows nicely and I love the structure...easy to read and take in. This circle of life poem is among your best I think!

I would only make one change, or not if you wanted another meaning

"From a love once cherished"
to
"Again now cherished"

Just to consider, closing the circle.

Very good job!! Congrats

I saw that picture along time ago and I always wanted to write a piece about it, you seemed to do exactly that here, beautiful.
