A Common W***e

A Common W***e

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr
"

This poem is about a being used and made to feel like a nobody

"

We live in the same house, yet we're worlds apart

I'm sitting here lonely, with a broken heart

The only time you touch me, is in your time of need

I am lost and ashamed, that I let this be

A common street w***e, is what I seem to be

Lying in wait, for you to come back to me

What did I do, to be treated in such a way

Loving you is all, and this the price I pay

There is no money involved, for what I freely give

The man that I love, uses me at his will

No respect, nor love, for I am invisible to you

My job is to do, whatever you tell me to

Love plays no part, in the way you treat me

It took a broken heart, for my eyes to open and see

It's all over now, because I'm walking out that door

I will no longer play the part, of your common live in w***e
