Right Here Waiting

Right Here Waiting

A Poem by Sheila Marie Carr

As I sit alone, here in this chair
Locked in a trance, out the window I stare
Day after day, I sit here waiting for you
I'm losing control, I don't know what to do

I try and I try, to remember your face
It has been so long, since you left this place
As time passes by, it weakens my heart
I cannot imagine, us living apart

So I hold on to hope, of you coming back
To mend my heart, and face the facts
That you left me alone, here anticipating
How long will I be, right here waiting
