Waterfalls

Waterfalls

Eyes grow heavy, fighting seems futile.
Guilt wells up, and threatens to consume.
Hunting into the darkness, I try to find a light.
All seems hopeless, as the endless night presses on.

Silent waterfalls, leaking silver fluid.
Genuine regret fills the mind, as it gets heavier.
Why is the world so, so cruel?
The flames burn brighter, pain more intense.

Darkness, repelled by the flames.
The epitome of pain, heat, and light.
Fear fades away, no longer needed.
Hatred leaves, no longer fueled by conscious thought.

Watching the flames, the shadows creep.
The ones too afraid to stand, finally rise.
Darkness prevails over all, so silent.
The fight starts now, stronger than ever.

Instinct rules, creating new pathways.
Death never comes, and the combat continues.
Life, a strange and foreign thing, so fleeting, yet so vibrant.
Colors paint the night sky, and provide some illumination against the dark.

(I may not be done.)
