now say poetry...

now say poetry...

A Poem by Shirlena
"

I see poetic people...Happy National Poetry Month.

"

say poetry...

and I take note of  lilting statuesque men...gathering

omni-cultured forming a luminous tower

all recognizing… hearing gospel guileless and serene

fusion fringes zinging and verving

accounting odes to sunsets and iridescence

smitten of things creatively hung vast in the universe

stars to which humans can not name

but will answer to a lofty member bearing their quantity

verses uttered of crows with Kente leaves

between beaks traveling north taunting eyes of nature

a new colloquy…plethora suggestions from heavens mouth

notices from April’s generosity

permission to paint along side her….she with colors

and I…subtly shouting

joyful nods praiseful lyrics to predecessors

the twirls and dances of Langston Hughes' variations

sticking and stinging Sonja Sanchez “we badd like bees”

turning herself into herself Nikki Giovanni's errors are correct

Tshombe is “NOT A POET” like an orator’s thespian

"I   AM    NOT   A    POET"

was there something about a poem

yes, as the maker saw fit to mold from dusk

combining mind matter and rhythm

did someone say poetry…. hear it

living in the clay

“aye but like love the archers might be blind”... Frederico Lorca

Poetry could be the key to the universe. According to String Theory, everything is composed of tiny loops of vibrating strings. The kind of building block a string loop is used as depends on its complex frequency. Every loop is a song having rhythm. Our universe is a symphonic composition. Poets are just more of the same. We are poems.

The universe is so full of muses and inspiration that is such a beautiful concept Aetheral.
We do live in poetry, don't we? It's all around us... every breath... every glance of beauty that hits our sight... then here you are, articulating the song that the heart sings with... mighty and visual, modest and giving... collecting experiences like bower-birds... making the entrance all colourful, bringing in suitor's with beauty and preened feathers... you know your words have always excited my senses, but I believe they have elevated, like shooting stars dancing across the sky... leaving the after-light of your travel... love, love, loved it!!!... It's bluesy all-right, I like how your writing casts aside all boundaries. In that sense you have the ideal personality to be a poetess or a musician, maybe both huh! My favorite lines:

fusion fringes zinging and verving
accounting odes to sunsets and iridescence

Thanks Wuji, I really appreciate your reading my poetry...besides you give some of the most thoughtf.. read more
I've read this three times and I am still too awestruck to put together any kind of articulation of how amazing this piece is. It is everything a poem should be...the imagery just has a crispness to it that is bound to touch anyone whose eyes coming contact with it. I feel like I should say more but pieces such as this leave little to see from an observational standpoint...it's one of those poems you take off the shelf every once in a while to read under different settings and moods, and learn new things with every successive read. Love the Lorca at the end as well...I salute your poetic genius my friend :)
