The Time It Takes

The Time It Takes

A Poem by John the Baptist Unbaptised

it takes a longer time for love

to heal from end to end

 in the moving world

      the more slowly our clocks

      appear to run

      in precise synchronism,

             the more the pulse rate

              reciprocates some

              doubly coincident flash

but we need not know anything

least of all the time it takes

for love to heal from end to end

           in the moving world

Phenomenal work I felt very connected to your poem.

short. willing. a perfect punch and a relieving nosebleed. I love this poem, Johnny. I love it with all my shallowness and naivety. you're a talented writer.

I'm sad. That is all I wanted to say, but it says I need to write more.

Gosh, how true it is...healing from a heartbreak takes time! And sometimes, not all wounds heal, only superficially. And we don't need to know everything there is to know about anything to feel that. You are right on spot!
