Lie Beside Me

Lie Beside Me

A Poem by John Fitzgerald

              Lie beside me on this bed of regret,

          And question the speed of existence

                  {Baby, we are travelling through the veins of god}

    I want them to play your birth at my funeral

       I want them to donate my heart to sensory deprivation

                Slow this earth down

                         Until all time has passed,

                          And we fall weightlessly in love

               I love it under this thunder,

        Unscathed by extreme time stretches

                                For now there is nothing to fear,

                                  And now there is nothing to doubt,

                          And anything could happen to anyone forever

Absolutely love this. The whole thing evokes such emotion; the way we feel living in an out of control world.
