Oh Nameless Goddess

Oh Nameless Goddess

A Poem by John the Baptist Unbaptised

Oh nameless goddess
I see with shut eyes

Oh pale unhallowed phantasm
stretched out on the working
of some powerful engine,
showing no signs of life

Yet in memory stirs an uneasy,
half vital motion forever

As though there could scarcely have been
a less propitious set of circumstances
for the galvanism of love

Powerful and darkly mysterious. I enjoyed this enigmatic work, and a sense of hallowed meaning behind it.
