A Smoke Filled Room

A Smoke Filled Room

A Poem by Shuvam De Biswas
"

when your lives have drifted apart, and you never want to see that once loved person again, but scenario and circumstance put you to test, where you only want the smoke to be your armour and shield.

"
I found her sitting close, next to me,
somebody close and distant simultaneously,
a known face with a hint of unrecognisability,
I know her and so does she know me-
for once we had loved each other,
we had never found one like another.

So had we thought when we were in love newly,
believed us to grow into the perfect duet duly,
we had every reason to grow old together,
expected this love to last forever,
but intersecting paths meet once and never again,
all promises and dreams ever made went in vain.

I don't want to see her, face this gloom,
all I wish now is for a smoke filled room.

"When it comes to nature and nurture, I choose neither. We are built from a DNA blueprint and born into a world or scenario and circumstance we don't control."
