For The Little Ones

For The Little Ones

A Poem by Sianna Reader

A love for a child is something quite unconditional...

Oh dear little angel,

you slumber in my arms,

You are so small in every way,

your face, your feet, your palms,

and while you are still little,

just dream and dream away,

and do not think of growing old,

it will be true some day.

Oh pretty child, so soft and sweet,

From you, I’ll never part,

My everlasting love for you,

It sits within my heart.

When everything is wrong and cold,

Remember you are free,

and if you were to feel true pain,

please pass it on to me.

Oh precious nymph, dear little one,

A gift you surely are,

The brightest light within the world,

Much brighter than star.

Just know you’re loved, yes very loved,

I cannot tell a lie,

And without you in my life, my sweet,

I’d very surely die!
