Drunken Whimpers

Drunken Whimpers

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Beauty remains Supreme in this

animal kingdom

we humans

love to devour the visage of others

from head to toe

and back again they look

stopping at a*s and tits

lingering there as if to determine

shall I touch this, suckle this later

tonight-

Or is it left from those cavemen days

where the right width of hip

and the curve of the brow

shall make good offspring?

If one more of you tells me to smile

another time

I may take your pervasive grin

permanently off your face-

make me

I say, give me a joke, a smoke

a reason to stop thinking about

whatever it was before you burst

into my world with your

need for satisfaction from me-

Perhaps a smile lights up the world

but frankly I didn't see you there

lurking about the 7-11

with your brown bag in tow

your cat calls

your desires to see my pearly whites

stained with words

I etch into the page at night with my teeth

the paint salivating from my tongue

on each canvas I contemplate

eating my dreams, my thoughts

away as I walk past

each of you not seeing

your need or desire

not caring that your request for smiles

will only be met with

haughty denials

until I am through with whatever

artistic nonsense consumes my

brain this eve.

Beauty remains Supreme in this

animal kingdom

we humans

crave it like a drug

suck it dry

use it, abuse it, destroy it

do not truly appreciate it

for it lies within

not upon this face of mine

or this body

that you archaically scope

with your cravings of lust

and demands

that only bring me to reprimand

your drunken whimpers.

I read it again and felt chastened this time... Maybe I too am guilty of mentally undressing too many women before I have learn to love their minds and to respect their wholeness; maybe I too seduce with words of beauty when what I am really hoping for is a*s and tits to satisfy my caveman urgings... Maybe I get drunk with the thought and then ... and then.... :-(

Finding... that many of my perused readings, of your compositions. Are dated, and from a writing cycle. That you were exceedingly prolific, with? Hmmm

Yes, things that make you go, Hmmm! As in your stating the effects, that 911 had on your swing consciousness, I kind if deduce, that many were done in a result of swimming the stream. Seriousness. Yes? Hey, may be right off base an thinking your poem here through before committing to commentary. Where a foot might end up? patuie... bleugh, bla bla bla. Proper English attempt, that! ha ha ha.

Upon reflection, a thing felt in this writ. Reversals. Where a drunk, just may end up at any-rate. The aftermath in contempt. Of being forthright! Again, reversals. In a view that is still, you. Following me so far?

Got that foot right up there real close. Oh well, carry on...
[God, what a line in string...]
your desires to see my pearly whites
stained with words
[now that's writing]

I'm not going to say much more than: this go home, for further contemplations!

A powerful complaint - I felt the nasty smell of his breath and the contempt you felt for one who just leers at a*s and tits... the degradation of beauty into something that defiles...

Righteous and beautiful anger that says it all. This is not a rant this is a wonderful philosophy. Excellent.

Ah, Siddartha, Warrior Princess! ;-)

This poem is of course beautiful the way fierce spiritual intelligence is beautiful. And what a fine thought to deliver a sermon on superficializing Beauty that way!

Your words are a whip lashing the backs of casually transgressive dogs. "Drunken Whimpers" indeed.

The visible form of Beauty is not without meaning -- but it is in THOROUGHNESS of inner and outer being that true complete Beauty is found. I suppose some might say "lighten up." I would say, many of are bored with the casualties of casualism.

Beautiful poem.

Sorta like standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona. Why does this prompt a wiseass answer?

Your beauty in these words
makes me know that in another dimension
we met long before
I wished I'd met
you long before and
now I long
with afternoon tea,
you brought the sugar
and I brought you
sweetness,
Robin

We all like beauty, and should not be ashamed, but the piece is right in directing us to seek it in a variety of ways and not solely in the visual attraction sense.

An interesting placeto visit, but to regularly live with these thoughts would be very sad indeed.
