My Knight

My Knight

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Many moons have come to pass

since I saw you last

but the memory of you

lingers with me all the time

and dreams at night

whisper, you still are mine.

'I love you', are the words you say

after I have gone to sleep

and as I drift in and out

of consciousness

I feel you round and about.

How is that you linger still

what is it that is your will

my love in return I give to thee

Forever we will be

bound to one another

whether together or apart

my dear

I remember

your soul

truly clear-

A lover of old perhaps they'd say

but still you greet me everyday

with your sweet embrace and charm

Please lover do not go astray.

But stay with me

forever

until we see each other once more

upon the gates of heaven's door.
