My King

My King

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

You came to me

tame it seems

with azure eyes

so sublime-

Your temperment

was rough at first

but then that quirk

set in

and your truthful grin

came to be known

a sweet melancholy.

As things are rough

from time to time

I know this well

it has been mine

yet still we sink

into the swell

of knowing one another

well again.

We shall prevail

I know this too

because I love you

you love me too

you are my King

you call me Queen

and together we

can do anything!

Easy. Very solid point. But I think I like your pieces that dont have a rhyme scheme more. I dont know why, maybe because you seemed to have challenged yourself more in those poems. My 2 cents.

Cute and light, I like it. Its not so lofty and artsy fartsy as a lot of love poems. I think this gets the point across in a more meaningful, tangible way that really improves the quality of your message. Good job.
